In a momentous leap towards our mission at Tech1M, we joined the prestigious Techstars New York City accelerator in April 2023, a distinction achieved by only the top 1% of applicants. This marked a pivotal chapter in our journey, placing us among 13 diverse founders who were set to make waves in the bustling city.
Our mission at Tech1M is to redefine the global workplace, simplifying talent recruitment and retention for hiring managers while steadfastly adhering to ESG principles. The Techstars program provided us with a unique platform to propel our vision forward, allowing us to streamline job hunting and enhance job satisfaction for more than 800 million talents worldwide.
The Techstars accelerator opened doors to a robust investor network, boasting a storied history of nurturing entrepreneurial dreams since its inception in 2006. With investments in over 3,300 companies and a staggering portfolio market capitalization of $97.9 billion, Techstars had propelled 20 companies past the $1 billion valuation mark and 109 beyond the $100 million milestone.
Together with the CEO, Tommie Edwards, the cofounder, Damilola Ogunmoye, and the entire Tech1M team, we embarked on this extraordinary journey as part of a cohort that embodied diversity and inclusivity, with 62% Black/Latino representation, 62% women, and 82% underrepresented founders. The inaugural Techstars NYC program, powered by JP Morgan, set the stage for greatness.

Showcasing Innovation: The Thrilling Demo/Pitch Day
Culminating this transformative experience was the much-anticipated "Founders Are the New Popstars Summer Jam" event, where Tech1M stood out among the 12 exceptional start-ups. A testament to our dedication and hard work, this event showcased the culmination of three months of rigorous training and participation in the Techstars New York City accelerator program.
Techstars provided not just a platform for pitch presentations but also a welcoming retreat in Montauk, the Hamptons. Here, amidst scenic landscapes, we had the privilege to connect with fellow founders, forging bonds that transcended the confines of business.
As we geared up for our pitch alongside some of the brightest minds and innovative companies, we reflected on the influential figures who graced the event. Notable personalities, including US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and other prominent politicians, added a touch of distinction to an already illustrious occasion, championing diversity and entrepreneurship.
This was not merely a chapter in our story but a testament to the resilience, passion, and innovation that defined Tech1M. The Techstars New York City accelerator had provided us with a launchpad, and as we navigated the future, we were poised for unprecedented growth and positive change on a global scale.
