Tech1M, a UK-based recruitment startup, has reached the finals for the StartUp of the Year Award in London! This exciting news comes ahead of the regional London finals of the StartUp Awards.
The UK StartUp Awards were launched to celebrate the UK's thriving startup scene, which has seen explosive growth in recent years.
In 2023 alone, the UK founded over 900,000 new businesses, experiencing a remarkable 12% increase from the previous year.
This year's UK StartUp Awards have shortlisted over 900 businesses. These firms, founded in the last three years, created over 6,000 jobs and generated £480 million in sales.
Tech1M: Simplifying Talent Acquisition with AI
Tommie Edwards and Damilola Ogunloye founded Tech1M, an AI-powered recruiting automation and skill assessment software, in 2022.
Their innovative approach has garnered several nominations and awards, such as the BTA App of the Year, Barclays Eagle Labs Outstanding Contribution, and most recently, this nomination for the StartUp of the Year Award at the UK StartUp Awards in London.
Tommie Edwards, CEO of Tech1M, spoke about the award, saying, "This nomination is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence by the Tech1M team. It’s not just a nod to our innovative spirit; it’s a recognition of the countless hours and unwavering commitment that have propelled us to the forefront of the industry.”
We feel honoured to be recognised among such innovative companies and we look forward to continuing our mission of providing exceptional services to our clients.”
Celebrating Entrepreneurial Spirit
Supported nationally by ScoreApp, GS1 UK, Starling Bank, OVHcloud, GiftRound, and Airwallex, the programme will celebrate the amazing individuals who have turned an idea into an opportunity and have taken the risk to launch a new product or service.
Several seasoned judges with experience founding or supporting entrepreneurial businesses will evaluate the regional prize nominees.
The winners from each region will then be invited to the first-ever UK National StartUp Awards final, which will be held at the Ideas Fest in Tring, Hertfordshire, on September 12th, 2024.
UK StartUp Awards founder Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, OBE, says start-ups are the lifeblood of any economy.
This year, the finalists are representing the best of those entrepreneurs who have spotted an opportunity and, through their sheer hard work, talent, and perseverance, have created amazing new businesses that are creating real impact in their sectors.
We are now looking to identify the 'best of the best' by building on the success of previous years. All the finalists who win their category in their region will represent their region at the first ever UK National StartUp Awards final later this year.”
